Health and Sports Together for Awareness
As October comes to an end, we believe that awareness should be strengthened not only on specific days but in every aspect of life. In this context, a meaningful swimming event bringing sports and health together was organized on the coast of Fatsa. Private Ünye Çakırtepe Hospital's Gynecology and Obstetrics Specialist, Op. Dr. Dilek Ak, represented our hospital by swimming in this special event, reminding us once again of the message "early diagnosis saves lives". This organization, held on the occasion of breast cancer awareness month, was a beautiful step towards drawing attention to healthy living.
"We Always Support Normal Birth"
Sharing her thoughts during the event, Op. Dr. Dilek Ak touched upon not only the early diagnosis of breast cancer but also maternal and infant health due to the "Normal Birth and Breastfeeding Promotion Week" we are in. Dr. Ak conveyed the following important messages:
- The Importance of Normal Birth: Stating that they always recommend normal birth to expectant mothers and support them throughout the process, Dr. Ak emphasized that cesarean section should only be preferred in cases where it is a medical necessity and a lifesaving intervention.
- Supporting Breastfeeding: Pointing out that it is highly valuable for development for mothers to regularly give breast milk to their babies after birth, Dr. Ak underlined that mothers should always be supported and motivated in this process.
- The Vital Role of Regular Check-ups: To increase awareness against breast cancer, it was reminded that biennial routine check-ups should not be neglected and monthly regular breast examinations should be performed.
Towards the Future with Hope on the Shores of Fatsa
Drawing attention to the beauty of the Black Sea and the shores of Fatsa in this event she attended for the first time, Op. Dr. Dilek Ak wished for such organizations to be held with wider participation and across Turkey in the coming years.
As Private Ünye Çakırtepe Hospital, we congratulate everyone who contributed to this meaningful event that brings health, sports, and awareness together. Let us not forget that; awareness strengthened in every field and early diagnosis are the strongest keys to healthy tomorrows.
