Organized by Çakırtepe Hospital, the health session titled “Diagnosis, Oversights, and Risks in Heart Diseases” took place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the Ünye Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Featuring contributions from academics and physicians across various specialties, the program comprehensively addressed current scientific approaches to cardiovascular health.
Within a broad framework extending from the protection of heart health to diagnostic processes, the program emphasized the importance of accurate information and scientific evaluation through the following key topics:

- Diagnosis of heart diseases in childhood
- The relationship between heart and mental health
- Cardiac risk factors

Heart Health Addressed Through the Perspectives of Diverse Medical Specialties
The scientific program of the health session brought together presentations evaluating heart health from multiple dimensions.
Prof. Dr. İsmail Tayfun Uzbay’s presentation titled “Evidence-Based Medicine Against the Science of Ignorance” highlighted the critical role of scientific knowledge in healthcare. In an era where health-related information spreads rapidly through numerous channels, consulting reliable sources and evaluating information on the basis of scientific evidence stood out as one of the core themes of the program.
Prof. Dr. Taner Kasar’s presentation on the diagnosis of pediatric heart diseases focused on the clinical differences between evaluations in childhood and adulthood. This underscored the necessity of approaching heart health across different stages of life with age-appropriate and individualized clinical assessments.
Prof. Dr. Ayşe Yalın’s talk titled “Heart and Mental Health” offered a holistic perspective on cardiovascular well-being. Examining the close link between psychological well-being and physical health, this session demonstrated the valuable contribution of multidisciplinary approaches to medical evaluations.
With Prof. Dr. İsmet Dindar’s contributions on cardiac risk factors, the identification and clinical assessment of risks affecting cardiovascular health also took center stage in the scientific program.
Coronary CT Angiography and Diagnostic Processes Discussed
One of the prominent topics of the program was Coronary CT Angiography. Situated at the intersection of cardiology and radiology, this subject was explored through several specialized presentations.
Specialist Dr. Naci Coşkun’s presentation on the importance of virtual angiography in cardiological conditions highlighted the role of Coronary CT Angiography in clinical evaluation processes.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Serindere’s talk titled “The 5Ws and 1H of Coronary CT Angiography – The Right Answer in the Right Patient at the Right Time” focused on evaluating the modality within the framework of appropriate patient selection and optimal timing.
Furthermore, Ender Can’s presentation on the role of computed tomography in clinical decision-making addressed the integration of advanced imaging technologies into clinical workflows.
These sessions underscored the importance of evaluating diagnostic methods in light of scientific data and personalized clinical assessments by physicians.
A Meaningful Gathering Enriched by Distinguished Figures from Ünye
One of the elements that made this health session particularly special for Ünye was that the majority of the speakers were originally from the city. Having distinguished academics and physicians—who pursue their work across various institutions and specialties—share their knowledge and expertise in Ünye lent the event a strong local bond alongside its high scientific caliber.
Bringing together academics and physicians raised in Ünye within the same program fostered a meaningful unity for the scientific and social life of the city. Strengthening a shared hometown bond around scientific exchange became one of the most valued aspects of the event.
While contributing to the local sharing of medical knowledge and clinical experience, this gathering also highlighted the importance of scientific events that unite diverse medical disciplines in Ünye.
