Abscess Drainage

The well-known rule in medicine "Ubi pus, ibi evacua" (Where there is pus, evacuate it) applies. When an abscess forms, a thick membrane (capsule) is woven around it. Antibiotics cannot penetrate this membrane and clean the dense inflammation inside. Healing solely with medication without draining the inflammation (drainage) is generally not possible.

In superficial abscesses, the area is anesthetized with local anesthesia (needle or spray), and a scratch is made with a small scalpel to drain the inflammation. The moment the pressure is released, the patient feels an incredible relief. In deep abscesses within the abdomen, the procedure is performed by inserting special needles under ultrasound guidance.
