Endoscopic Ear Surgery

About the Treatment Method

Endoscopic ear surgery is a modern Ear, Nose, and Throat operation in which the entire surgical process is performed directly through the ear canal using thin, high-resolution endoscope cameras, without the need for large incisions behind the ear (and bone carving procedures) as in traditional methods. It is widely used in eardrum tears (Tympanoplasty) and middle ear ossicle (small bone) surgeries.

Benefits of Incisionless Ear Surgery

Microscopic repairs made by entering through the ear canal.
Is there any stitch scar left on the outside?

This is its biggest advantage. Since all instruments enter through the natural ear canal (external auditory canal), there is no incision, stitch, or scar behind the ear. A head bandage is also not used after the surgery.

Is it better than microscopic surgery?

While the microscope provides a straight viewing angle from the outside, angled endoscopes can show the most hidden corners and blind spots of the middle ear with 3D depth. In this way, the possibility of disease recurrence is reduced, and unnecessary bone tissue removal is prevented.

How is the recovery process?

Since there is no incision or bone carving procedure, postoperative pain is much less compared to microscopic surgery. The patient can be discharged on the same day and can return to their daily life in just a few days, provided they protect their ear from water.
