Breast Lift Surgery (Mastopexy)

In breast reduction surgery, the excessive "fat and mammary gland tissue" in the breast is also cut and discarded to reduce the weight of the breast. In lift surgery, however, the breast's own internal volume (gland) is generally not touched; only the emptied bra (i.e., excess skin) is tightened to lift and gather the breast upwards.

If the inside of the breast is completely emptied after breastfeeding and the patient's own breast tissue is not enough to fill the sagging skin (to give it an upright form), the surgeon places a small "Silicone Prosthesis" inside while gathering the skin, ensuring that the breast is both upright and its cleavage is full (Augmentation Mastopexy).

Scars vary depending on the degree of sagging. In mild sagging, an incision is made only around the nipple (Lollipop scar). In severe sagging, a scar forms that goes down from the nipple and continues under the breast (Inverted T or Anchor shape). The scars are red in the first months, but within 1 year they take on the skin color and become invisible inside the bra.
