About the Treatment Method
Advantages of Closed Joint Surgery
It is the gold standard for suturing or cleaning meniscus tears in the knee joint, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repairs, muscle/tendon impingements in the shoulder (rotator cuff tears), and the removal of free cartilage fragments (joint mice) inside the joint.
In open surgeries, large muscle and connective tissues are cut to reach the joint. In arthroscopy, however, access is gained through small holes without damaging the tissues. Thanks to this, postoperative pain is at a minimum level, the hospital stay is very short (usually same-day discharge), and the patient can return to their normal life within days instead of weeks.
