About the Treatment Method
Surgical Application and Advantages
It is used in repairing ligament tears developing after recurrent ankle sprains, removing cartilage fragments that have fallen into the joint called "joint mice", treating footballer's ankle (anterior impingement) syndrome, and cleaning rheumatic membranes (synovia).
Since the joint capsule and surrounding connective tissues are not cut widely, postoperative pain and swelling are very slight. Depending on the type of procedure performed (cartilage shaving or ligament suturing), the patient is generally discharged on the same day and starts walking by putting weight on it much earlier.
