About the Treatment Method
Application Techniques and Permanence
Lips are rich in nerve networks and are sensitive. However, strong numbing creams are applied before the procedure, or a very mild local nerve block is applied as dentists do. Furthermore, since the filler material itself contains local anesthetic (lidocaine), the sensation of pain during the procedure is at a minimum level.
Classic lip fillers can puff the lip forward (duck lip shape). In the "Russian Lips" technique, the filler is given with many fine vertical injections from the edge of the lip, expanding the lip "upwards and downwards" without thrusting it forward, thus achieving a much flatter and lifted aesthetic appearance as if hearts were drawn.
Since lips are highly mobile and have a high blood supply, the filler is dissolved by the body slightly faster than in other areas. Depending on the quality of the material used and the person's metabolism, the permanence of a lip filler averages between 8 and 12 months.
