Needle Epilation

About the Treatment Method

Needle epilation (Electrolysis) is the process of directly entering the hair follicle with a sterile needle that is fine and the size of a hair root, delivering a low-intensity electric or radiofrequency current, and permanently destroying the root cell that produces the hair. It is the only method that has received 100% "Definitive Permanent Epilation" approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the permanent destruction of fine, white, gray, blonde, and red hairs where laser epilation technology is insufficient.

Permanent Hair Destruction Process

Differences between laser epilation and needle epilation.
Why is it preferred when there is laser epilation?

Laser epilation devices need the black dye (melanin) inside the hair to transmit the light; therefore, they cannot see white, blonde hair, or fine hairs called peach fuzz. Needle epilation does not care about the color of the hair or the color of the skin; it is 100% effective for hair of all colors because it directly electrifies and burns the root.

Is the procedure painful?

Because an electric current is applied to the hair root, it has a more perceptible pain (a slight needle prick and stinging sensation) compared to laser epilation. When local anesthetic cream is applied to the facial or chin area to be treated 45 minutes before the application, this sensation of pain is largely eliminated.

Does it leave scars or blemishes on the skin?

When performed by expert, trained, and experienced people at the correct current level, it does not leave permanent scars. It is normal to have redness, swelling, and tiny dot-like crusting at the hair roots after the procedure. If these crusts are not tampered with or plucked, they fall off without leaving a scar within 1 week, revealing smooth skin.
