Absolutely not. Implant surgery is a more painless and comfortable procedure than a standard tooth extraction. There are no pain nerves in the jawbone; only the gums are numbed with local anesthesia (needle). The patient only feels the vibration of the instruments during the procedure.
In the classical method, after the implant screw is placed in the bone, a waiting period of 2-3 months for the lower jaw and 3-4 months for the upper jaw is required for the titanium to fuse with the bone (osseointegration). At the end of this period, the permanent porcelain or zirconium tooth is attached. However, in patients with a very suitable bone structure, temporary teeth can be attached immediately with the "Same Day Implant (Immediate Loading)" technique.
Titanium is a tissue-friendly (biocompatible) material; therefore, a situation like "the body rejecting the implant (causing an allergy)" as in organ transplants is medically out of the question. Implant losses are usually caused by bone infections that develop due to inadequate oral hygiene, excessive smoking, or uncontrolled diabetes.
