Classification of Interventional Methods
Non-invasive procedures are those performed without inserting any instruments into the body, without bleeding or incisions (e.g., ultrasound, X-ray, ECG). Invasive procedures, on the other hand, are interventions that require some sort of "intervention" into the body (angiography, endoscopy, surgical operations).
Instead of the massive incisions made in traditional open surgeries (major invasive procedures), these are "Closed Surgeries" (Laparoscopy, Arthroscopy, etc.) performed by entering the body through only millimetric holes with a camera and special thin instruments. It minimizes trauma, bleeding, and recovery time for the patient.
