Surgical Process and Scar Management
Sports (triceps exercises) can enlarge and strengthen the muscles under the arm. However, if your skin has exceeded its elasticity (collagen) limit due to excessive weight loss, and has become hollow and flabby, this skin will never shrink and gather back with sports. The only solution for the sagging "fabric (skin)" excess is to cut it off with scissors.
Since the skin is cut, a scar is inevitable in surgery, and this is the most feared disadvantage of this surgery. The incisions (scars) are hidden as a straight line (T or L shaped) on the "exact inner side" of the arm or the inner line of the back, so that they will not be seen from the front and back when the patient hangs their arms down.
Special, tight armlet corsets are worn for 3-4 weeks after the surgery to prevent pressure on the arms and ensure the wound heals properly. Your doctor will ask you to wait at least 4 to 6 weeks to carry loads, lift heavy objects, and start sports with your arms.
