Liposuction (Fat Removal Surgery)

About the Treatment Method

Liposuction (Fat Extraction) is a body shaping (body contouring) operation in which stubborn and localized fat deposits accumulated in certain areas of the body genetically (belly, hips, waist circumference, double chin) that cannot be melted despite diet and regular exercise are permanently removed from the body using special cannulas and vacuum systems.

Fat Removal Techniques and Permanence

Differences between Vaser and Laser liposuction and the body shaping process.
Is Liposuction a weight loss (slimming) surgery?

This is the most common misconception. Liposuction is not a weight loss surgery, it is a "shaping (sculpting)" surgery. It is not applied for general obesity treatment, but rather for correcting the bulges in the "love handles" or hips that simply will not melt away in a person who is at a normal weight according to their height.

What is the difference between Vaser or Laser Liposuction and the classic one?

In the classical method, fat is only mechanically broken and extracted. In Vaser (Ultrasonic) and Laser liposuction methods, sound waves or laser beams are delivered to the fat tissue before vacuuming it with a cannula, melting the fat almost like butter. In this way, surrounding vessels and nerves are not damaged (bruising is very minimal), and a tremendous tightening (lifting) is achieved in the skin with the effect of heat.

Will there be a surgery scar?

The holes opened for the cannulas to enter are only 2-3 millimeters in diameter. These tiny incisions are usually hidden in invisible folds like underwear or bikini lines. When they heal, no surgery scars are noticeable from the outside.

Will the removed fat come back?

After puberty, the number of fat cells in the human body is constant (does not increase). Since a large portion of the cells in that area is completely uprooted and removed with liposuction, it is physiologically impossible to see fat accumulation at that level in that area again. If the person gains too much weight after the procedure, the few remaining cells may grow in volume but will not return to their old shapelessness.
