Breast Augmentation Surgery (Augmentation)

About the Treatment Method

Breast augmentation (Augmentation Mammoplasty) is the process of placing high-tech (cohesive) silicone prostheses or the patient's own fat into the breasts of women who have structurally small breasts, whose breasts have emptied and lost volume after childbirth and breastfeeding, or whose breasts have shrunk after severe weight loss, in order to give their breasts fullness, shape, and a more aesthetic cleavage profile.

Types of Silicone Prostheses and Safety

Prostheses used in breast augmentation surgery and breastfeeding status.

Round prostheses fill both the upper (cleavage) and lower poles equally, providing a very full and eye-catching appearance. Teardrop (Anatomical) prostheses, on the other hand, are thinner on top and fuller on the bottom; because they look exactly like natural breast tissue, it is much harder to tell from the outside that an aesthetic procedure has been done. The surgeon guides based on the person's breast structure.

Older generation liquid-filled prostheses are a thing of the past. FDA-approved "Cohesive Gel" prostheses used today do not leak or scatter their gel even if they are cut in half. They do not burst except in a traffic accident or sharp object injury. Most brands offer a lifetime warranty for their prostheses, and they do not routinely need to be replaced every 10 years.

It absolutely does not prevent it. Depending on the surgical technique, the silicone prosthesis is usually placed just below the mammary glands or deeper (under the chest muscle). Because no incisions are made or damage is done to the milk-producing tissues, ducts, and nipples, women can breastfeed their babies 100% healthily after the surgery.

Plastic surgeons use a small incision of 3-4 centimeters to insert the silicone. This incision is usually perfectly hidden in the "Inframammary fold (under the breast)". It is absolutely invisible from the outside or when standing up, and is only noticed as a pale line when the patient lies down and is looked at closely.
