General Information About the Test
Test Process and Preparation
The procedure, including the preparation phase, takes a few minutes. It is sufficient for the patient to assume the correct position in front of the X-ray machine and hold their breath for just a few seconds.
No special physical preparation or fasting is required. However, before the imaging, patients are asked to remove metallic objects from the chest area, such as necklaces, metal buttons, or bras, which could affect image quality.
Since it involves X-rays (radiation), it is not routinely performed during pregnancy or in cases of suspected pregnancy. If there is an absolute medical necessity, it can be performed with physician approval using special lead aprons that protect the abdominal area.
