Does a positive test mean the patient is a carrier?

Individuals with a history of blood transfusion, those who have had suspicious contact, patients with inexplicably elevated liver enzymes (ALT, AST), and healthcare professionals should undergo periodic testing.
Is fasting mandatory for the test?
Fasting is not mandatory for the Anti-HCV test. The blood sample is drawn from a vein in the arm, and the results are usually available on the same day.
