To be able to clearly see the intra-abdominal organs (liver, gallbladder, pancreas), gas formation must be prevented. For this reason, the patient is asked to fast for at least 8 hours prior to the procedure. Additionally, it is mandatory to have a full bladder (a strong urge to urinate) to be able to see the bladder and reproductive organs.

That cold, colorless gel applied to the skin (ultrasound gel) ensures that the sound waves are transmitted from the skin to the organs continuously and clearly, without any air gaps. It is water-based, does not stain, and is not allergic.

There is absolutely no harm, side effect, or radiation risk. Because it works on the principle of sound waves (like the sonar system in submarines), it is 100% safe for everyone, from newborn babies to pregnant women.
